2. Information we collect

Public pages do not require an account. The weekly brief is not open, and this site does not collect email addresses or professional preferences through a subscription form. An account is needed only for My Desk.

• My Desk accounts: creating an account at commodityscope.com/desk stores the name and email address you enter, a hash of the password (not the password itself) and the desk layout: shelves, saved market pages and the selected market. The account does not store prices; values on the desk are the published CommodityScope figures.
• Correspondence: if you write to [email protected], we receive the address and the content of that message.
• Hosting logs: the hosting environment may record ordinary request logs (requested URL and time) needed to operate and secure the site.
• Visit counts: public pages request a first-party 1x1 pixel on this site so the publisher can see which URLs are opened, the referring site, a coarse country, the browser user-agent, the visitor IP, and the browser window and screen size in CSS pixels. The pixel does not collect a name, email or account. Counts are stored on the publisher's server and are limited to commodityscope.com.
• Site search: suggestions are matched in your browser. Opening the search results page puts the search words in its URL, and choosing a result sends the search words and the chosen page to the visit pixel above; both are counted like any other visit.
• Public widget: when another site loads the official CommodityScope embed, the visitor's browser requests pages on commodityscope.com. Those requests may include the embedding page as referrer and are counted with the same first-party visit pixel. The widget does not collect a name, email or account.

3. How we use information

The My Desk email address is used only to confirm it and to send a password reset link when you ask for one; these messages come from [email protected]. Correspondence is used only to reply to the request. Hosting logs are used to keep the site running and to limit abuse. Visit counts, including requests from the official embed widget, are used only to see which public pages are read. PAK OCEAN TL HK does not sell, rent or trade contact details.

4. Cookies and local storage

The site may use local browser storage to remember chart timeframes (30D, 90D, YTD, All) and the markets saved on Watchlist. Watchlist contents stay in that browser and are not sent to CommodityScope. My Desk sets one session cookie, cs_desk (HttpOnly, limited to commodityscope.com/desk), which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days or until you sign out; the desk layout is also kept in local browser storage so the page opens quickly. There is no newsletter cookie. The first-party visit-count pixel does not set a cookie.
