Daily FOB Middle East spot assessment of granular sulfur in USD/mt, excluding Iran as printed in the series basis.

Compare With

Each comparison states why the series are related and whether the latest values can be subtracted directly (same unit, currency and assessment date). Where they cannot, the values are shown side by side without a difference.

Different delivery terms (FOB vs CFR); the gap may reflect freight, insurance, location basis, parcel and timing differences and is not a trading margin.

Normalization
Inputs used for the midpoint and the assessment range are considered only after they can be expressed on this series basis and unit. Cross-unit values are not converted on the public site and are not mixed into this series.

Specification · stated in the assessment basis

  • Granular form, spot, Iran excluded — as printed in the series name.
  • Platts Fertecon print. Separate from any Argus series and not an average of the two. The assessment date is the printed section date. The first stored print of that date stands. The unit stays as printed.

Basis: FOB Middle East excl. Iran

  • FOB (free on board): the price covers the product loaded on the vessel at the named origin; sea freight and insurance to the destination are excluded, so FOB values from different loading areas are not delivered-cost equivalents.
  • The place in this sulfur series is the place named in the basis. CFR and FOB stay separate.

Unit: USD/mt

  • Most series are USD per metric tonne of product, not per tonne of nitrogen. NOLA barge series are USD per short ton (907.18 kg); Rouen and German inland series are EUR/mt. A series stays in its published unit: USD/mt, USD/st, EUR/mt, GBP/mt and CNY/mt are not converted into each other.
  • FOB origin and CFR destination values are not interchangeable; the gap may reflect freight, insurance, location basis, parcel size and timing, not freight alone.
How to use this series, and what it is not for

How to use this series
