What This Indicator Measures
Daily FOB Singapore cargo assessment of 10 ppm sulphur gasoil in USD/bbl — the loading-port value used to price Asian middle-distillate cargoes.
Gasoil 10ppm / ULSD / Diesel 10ppm: A physical price for middle-distillate fuel with a maximum sulphur content of 10 mg/kg (10 ppm), the grade used for road diesel in the EU and many other markets. Each series refers to one loading or delivery area, one delivery term and one parcel type (cargo or barge); these define separate markets and are kept on separate pages.
Specification · stated by the source for this series
- Maximum 10 ppm (10 mg/kg) sulphur — stated in the series name and the source table heading.
- 10 ppm is the maximum sulphur content by mass; it is the road-diesel limit set by the EU Fuel Quality Directive.
- “ULSD”, “Diesel 10ppm” and “Gasoil 10ppm” in this catalogue all refer to 10 mg/kg sulphur product; other properties (cold-flow, density, cetane) follow the source’s assessment specification, which is not reproduced here.
Basis: FOB Singapore
- FOB Singapore: the value is for cargo loading in Singapore, the pricing centre for Asian middle distillates. It excludes freight to any discharge port.
- Quoted in USD per barrel, unlike European gasoil which is quoted per metric tonne.
- FOB (free on board): the price covers the product loaded on the vessel at the named origin; sea freight and insurance to the destination are excluded, so FOB values from different loading areas are not delivered-cost equivalents.
- Singapore is a port and storage hub at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula; Asian refined-product cargoes are commonly priced against Singapore loadings.
Unit: USD/bbl
- USD/bbl values (Singapore, Arab Gulf, Fujairah) and USD/mt values (Europe, Japan naphtha) cannot be compared without a product-specific density conversion; the site does not convert them.
- Published assessments are a low–high range with a midpoint; charts and monthly statistics use the midpoint only.

What This FOB Singapore Price Represents
This page tracks the daily 10ppm gasoil on a FOB Singapore basis, quoted in USD/bbl. This is a 10ppm gasoil assessment, not an EN590 retail diesel price. Figures are CommodityScope Indicators synthesized from loaded market editions. They are not a live quote and not a republication of a price-reporting agency table.
How to use this series
- Track the level and direction of one market over time using the chart, monthly averages and the recent-assessment table.
- Compare markets only after checking unit (bbl vs mt), delivery term (FOB vs CIF) and parcel type (cargo vs barge).
What it is not suitable for
- Retail pump prices: these are wholesale cargo/barge values before taxes, distribution and margins.
- Arbitrage calculations between basins: the FOB/CIF gap includes freight and insurance.
- Intraday trading: values are end-of-day assessments from loaded editions.
Compare With
Each comparison states why the series are related and whether the latest values can be subtracted directly (same unit, currency and assessment date). Where they cannot, the values are shown side by side without a difference.
