What This Indicator Measures

Daily FOB Singapore naphtha cargo assessment in USD/bbl — the Asian loading-port value for open-specification naphtha used as cracker and reformer feedstock.

Naphtha: A physical price for naphtha, a light distillate used as petrochemical steam-cracker feedstock and gasoline blendstock. Regional series differ by delivery term and unit (USD/bbl in Singapore, USD/mt in Europe and Japan).

What the source does not state for this series

  • The source table names this series as “Naphtha” and does not print a fuller specification; none is assumed here.

Specification · stated by the source for this series

  • Open-spec naphtha; the source row is labelled “Naphtha” without a paraffin or density figure.
  • Open-specification naphtha; paraffin content and density follow the source assessment and are not reproduced here.

Basis: FOB Singapore

  • FOB (free on board): the price covers the product loaded on the vessel at the named origin; sea freight and insurance to the destination are excluded, so FOB values from different loading areas are not delivered-cost equivalents.
  • Singapore is a port and storage hub at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula; Asian refined-product cargoes are commonly priced against Singapore loadings.

Unit: USD/bbl

  • USD/bbl values (Singapore, Arab Gulf, Fujairah) and USD/mt values (Europe, Japan naphtha) cannot be compared without a product-specific density conversion; the site does not convert them.
  • Published assessments are a low–high range with a midpoint; charts and monthly statistics use the midpoint only.

What This FOB Singapore Price Represents

This page tracks the daily naphtha on a FOB Singapore basis, quoted in USD/bbl. Figures are CommodityScope Indicators synthesized from loaded market editions. They are not a live quote and not a republication of a price-reporting agency table.

How to use this series

  • Follow cracker-feedstock costs by region; compare with gasoline in the same basis to read blending economics.

What it is not suitable for

  • Converting between USD/bbl and USD/mt without a density assumption.

Compare With

Each comparison states why the series are related and whether the latest values can be subtracted directly (same unit, currency and assessment date). Where they cannot, the values are shown side by side without a difference.
